01/22/2020 Edition

It's too cold here to write much. Happy to say we'll be in California in February for a few days, so at least I have that to look forward to feel a little warmth. So fire up a big mug of hot chocolate and enjoy perusing the latest edition of Page's Picks.

11/04/2019 Edition

8 days shy of 2 months since the last edition. Better and Better. December dates are falling thick and fast. Once again we highly recommend our 3 favorite holiday shows: Chaise Lounge on 12/4 and the Eric Felton Jazz Orchestra on 12/10-11, both at Blues Alley, and the Capitol Bones Big Band on 12/17 at Union Stage. We never miss them. They almost always sell out. Don't say we didn't warn you. This will be the last edition of Page's Picks until after the holidays. So crank up some nog, put your feet up and work your way through the Picks. One of the best presents you can give yourself is some great entertainment. And you don't even have to wrap it! Enjoy your Turducken and be sure to have a Cool Yule and a Festive First!

09/12/2019 Edition

Just 2 months and 6 days since the last edition. We're getting better! First of all, don't miss "What the Constitution Means to Me" (September 11-22). This one woman show is remarkable and wonderful. We saw it a few months ago on Broadway and it knocked us out. Check out the Kennedy Center listing. I know I mentioned it in the last update, but the show is running NOW and will only be there for for 10 more days. December dates are starting to fall into place, and there are three shows we never miss: Chaise Lounge, Eric Felton Jazz Orchestra, and the Capitol Bones Big Band. They are our Christmas tradition. So sit back, take a load off and scrutinize Page's Picks to see if anything speaks to you.

07/06/2019 Edition

Almost three months since the last update! Picture the chagrin. Picture the shame. Picture yourself in a boat on a river... but I digress. This edition has a ton of new listings. For all the locals, there are lots of free concerts at the Fairfax County Parks. Agnes had added some more museums and exhibitions, along with suggestions for Broadway shows. Speaking of shows, we saw a play on our last NYC trip entitled "What the Constitution Means To Me." This is a one-woman show starring and written by Heidi Schreck. It closes in New York in August and will be at the Kennedy Center September 11-22. You really should make an effort to see this show. Agnes and I were both knocked out by it. Here's a link to the Kennedy Center listing for the play. Finally, if you happen to be near Durham, NC on August the 10th, DO NOT MISS Teresa James and the Rhythm Tramps at the Blue Note Grill. Trust me now, thank me later.

04/23/2019 Edition

Hi there! Forget everything I said about changes in the last edition, since they're all gone. After recanting the old ones, we've made a few additional changes since then. Our goal is to make the Picks easy for folks to use and easy for us to maintain. Everything should now be listed in date order with road trips (along with new and updated entries) marked in color in the first column. let us know whether or not it works for you. The next edition will be, as always, the largest of the year. As soon as they are announced, we'll be adding many of the free Fairfax County Park Concerts to Page's Picks.

01/30/2019 Edition

Hi there! We've made a few changes since the last edition. The first section is now the Ticketed Local Entertainment. The next section is the Free Local Entertainment. Next is Road Trips. Last, a new section, Museums and Exhibits. These had previously been mixed in, but Agnes decided it was easier for her to give them their own section.

We have some shows we're really looking forward to in the next month or so. Sebastian Maniscalco, a very funny comedian who uses his body to convey emotions will be at the MGM National Harbor on 2/8-9. David Sanborn, the great alto saxophonist typically blends jazz with instrumental pop and R&B. He'll be at the Birchmere on 02/13. The Hot Sardines, performing straight–up foot–stomping hot jazz with a great female vocalist ( think wartime Paris via New Orleans) at the Hamilton, 02/17. C.J. Chenier & the Red Hot Louisiana Band (If you like your Zydeco hot and your venue cool, you need to turn out for this one. 02/28 at City Winery. Jon Cleary's Fat Tuesday Celebration. Cleary's a virtuosic keyboardist, profoundly expressive vocalist, and quite distinctive songwriter, New Orleans’ adopted ambassador of funk. (Page loves him. Agnes likes him.) 03/05 at the Hamilton. Lena Seikaly, our favorite local young jazz vocalist on 03/06 at Blues Alley. And finally, Kinky Friedman & Dale Watson: Long Tales & Short Songs. Two true Texas Troubadors (Dale has a lovely Baritone voice; Kinky is a better story teller). Hope you can make it out for some of these.

11/11/2018 Edition

Welcome to the Holiday Season. There's lots and lots to see between now and the New Year. If you don't believe us, take a look at the listing below. We went to see Beetlejuice the Musical and found it to be great fun. It closes on November 15, so try to see it if you can. For this season, we have our traditional, annual Holiday concerts: A Redd Christmas on December 4th at the Hamilton, The Capitol Bones All–Brass Big Band present "A Stan Kenton Christmas" on December 10th at Union Stage and Eric Felten Jazz Orchestra (Big Band): "Duke Ellington's Nutcraker & More Holiday Favorites" on December 11-12 (oops, that one's sold out). Enjoy your holidays and you'll see us again in 2019.

08/13/2018 Edition

Well, nobody has complained about the shift to using PDF files.. Works for me, since it's much easier. There's a small change to the listing in this edition. The section containing the local non-ticketed, non-concert entertainment has been moved to the bottom of the listing, just above the Road Trip section. We're not seeing enough of you at the shows this year. Come out and enjoy! Finally, if there's anyone you believe should be in Page's Picks, put your money where your recommendations are and buy us some tickets to see 'em in action. So that's it for now.

05/29/2018 Edition

Well, nobody has complained about the shift to using PDF files, so either it's fine with you or you just don't care. Works for me, since it's much easier This is always the largest edition of the year as it includes many of the free weekly concerts to be found at the Fairfax County parks. May has been great month for music thus far with Mingo Fishtrap, Sharón Clark, Raul Malo, Chaise Lounge and Luzia, the best Cirque du Soleil show in at least a decade. The month ends with some of my favorites performing this week: Paul Thorn with the McCrary Sisters on Wednesay at the Hamilton, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy on Thursday at the Birchmere. June starts with Here Come The Mummies on Friday, again at the Birchmere and Jon Cleary on Sunday back at the Hamilton. It's gonna be great. Four killer shows one after the other! I can't wait!

04/04/2018 Edition

We've been gone a long time, but since only a few people noticed, we haven't really worried about it. But we're back with a vengeance. We've changed a few things since the last edition. We've added an additional column labeled "Status" which will indicate if an entry is new or updated. Also, you'll notice a "Printer Friendly" logo beneath "The Latest Picks." Click on this and you will be able to download a PDF file for your printing convenience. I couldn't find any method that would let you print out the entire list from the web page, so this is the best option I could devise. For those of you on the mailing list, you will no longer see a full listing of the Picks. Instead there will be a link for the PDF file containing all the info. Let me know how you like the changes. That's it for now.

12/19/2017 Edition

Here's our present to you just in time for Christmas. There are even some new shows between now and the new year just in case your schedule isn't full with Christmas celebrations. Please let your friends know about Page's Picks and don't forget to sign up for our mailing list if you haven't done so already. Happy Holidays!

09/23/2017 Edition

Here we are again, getting ready to slide into fall. More shows are being added all the time. There are a couple of shows in the next two weeks that I'm really looking forward to seeing. First is Here Come The Mummies on 9/29 at the Birchmere. These guys must be seen to be believed. They're a slammin' 8 piece horn band from Nashville who are all attired as mummies. There are theoretically reasons for this, but I don't really care. Agnes claims they're crude, but I would describe them more as masters of the single entendré. It's a great show band with some outrageous lyrics and I can't wait to see them. Second is Herman's Hermits starring Peter Noone on 10/3 at the Birchmere. We've seen this at least 6 times and we keep coming back. Noone still has his voice coupled with some great showmanship.. I'm always amazed at how many of the lyrics I can recall. I guarantee you'll leave with a song in your heart and a smile on your lips. Just remember kids, we don't put out Page's Picks for our health and we don't make a penny from our efforts. Our only reward is when you come out to see a show we've recommended, or even better, when through the Picks you discover a new artist you really like. So come out for a show and say hello!

08/17/2017 Edition

Yay! Exactly a month since the last edition. Back on schedule... for the first time in a while! Here's the latest Page's Picks. 270 entries this time, with 118 new or updated. As summer winds down, the number of new show stands at 94. If you're not getting out for these, you're missing some great shows. Please let your friends know about Page's Picks and don't forget to sign up for our mailing list if you haven't done so already

07/17/2017 Edition

Back to normal... behind schedule! We're back (if tardy) with another Page's Picks. 295 entries this time, with more than half being new or updated. With this many additions, go get a summer beverage, put your feet up and start doing some serious perusing over all the great things to see and hear. If you can't find something in here that makes you want to get out of your chair, get a ticket and go to a show, well, then there's nothing more we can do for you. Please tell your entertainment starved friends about Page's Picks and don't forget to sign up for our mailing list if you haven't done so already

05/18/2017 Edition

Ah, that feels better. We're back on schedule with the latest Page's Picks. 290 entries this time, with just over half being new ones. The largest portion of the new ones are the free weekly county park concerts sponsored by Fairfax County. If you live in the county, go out and enjoy your tax dollars at work. With this many additions, just take a deep breath and dive into the listing (there will be a quiz later). Read it top to bottom and we're sure you'll find some shows you really want to see. As always, be sure to tell your friends about Page's Picks and don't forget to sign up for the mailing list if you haven't done so already.

04/13/2017 Edition

Boy, we've been gone a long time. Hope you noticed, or even better, missed us. A long-overdue vacation (and just a long trip) occupied us for most of March and some of April. We spent a month in Australia and had a wonderful time. But I'm fairly certain Agnes will never ever travel 14 hours on a plane again. Now that's explained, let's move on to the latest edition of Page's Picks. This is the largest edition yet, with 209 entries, and of those, 143 are NEW entries. Finally, be sure you make it to the bottom of the list where the "Road Trips" can be found. We've added a bunch of music cruises plus a group of great shows in NYC. So sit back with your favorite beverage, work your way through the Picks and see if we've found a show or two you just can't miss. Be sure to tell your friends about Page's PIcks and don't forget to sign up for the mailing list if you haven't done so already..

01/30/2017 Edition

And we're back again. January found us on the Delbert McClinton & Friends Sandy Beaches Cruise for the 23rd time. Our group numbered 20 folks and I think everyone enjoyed themselves greatly. They're doing it all again next year and as soon as more of the artists have been announced, we'll list it here. Now we're looking forward to the North Carolina Jazz Festival for the 5th time. This has become one of my favorite musical events. Looking into the new year, we've added 43 new events, so enjoy perusing the latest edition of Page's Picks.

12/25/2016 Edition

Merry Christmas! Now that everything under the tree has been unwrapped, here's the last present for the day: the latest edition of Page's Picks.Yeah, I know, we're two past past our personal worst of 2 months between updates. What can I say? Holidays, travel, stuff we gotta do. I'm sure it works the same way for you. But here we are again, looking into the new year and finding 63 new events to add to the list.

Remember, if you're on facebook, you ought to sign up for the Page's Picks group. If you want to join, just click HERE.

As always, entries in  gold  on the schedule are *new* to this edition. We hope we'll see you at a show sooner rather than later.. Please come up and speak if you see us.

10/23/2016 Edition

Welcome to the latest edition of Page's Picks. You might notice that things look a little different. We decided that it was time to have some redesign. You'll find this new graphic on facebook, on the mailing list and as you see here, the website.
We've also changed our facebook presence from a page to a group. This will provide more features that we'll use to improve our online information. One difference is that you must sign up for the group rather than just "liking" it. If you want to join the group, just click HERE.

Along with the 43 new entries, that's it for now. Remember: entries in  gold  on the schedule are *new* to this edition. We hope we'll see you at a show sooner rather than later.. Please come up and speak if you see us.

09/02/2016 Edition

Wow! Unbelievable! Only 2 weeks and 2 days since the last update. A new personal best! But we had 48 dates that just couldn't wait, so here we are again. We've decided to drop all the entries for the Ice House in Herndon, except for bands we've heard before. We haven't had a chance to check out the venue, so we just thought it was better to pull those dates off the list. Since the last edition, we've been out to see Junior Brown, Cyrus Chestnut, Paul Thorn, John Oliver (in a rare stand-up performance) and the Al Di Meola Electric Band. We enjoyed them all thoroughly, although the folks around us at the Di Meola show talked through the entire performance (which I consider to be rude in the extreme).

Along with the 48 new entries, that's it for now. Remember: entries in  gold  on the schedule are *new* to this edition. We hope we'll see you at a show sooner rather than later.. Please come up and speak if you see us.

08/17/2016 Edition

Stop the Presses! We're early this time, mainly because we have 38 new entries to add to Page's Picks. Our new discovery this time is Davy Knowles, a wonderful blues-rock guitarist and singer from England. A monster guitarist with great original tunes, his opening set at the Birchmere blew us away. Another show we loved was The Hot Sardines. They play vintage jazz and are the only band we've seen of late that has their own tap dancer. Their performance was great and we'll be going back to see them again next time they're in town. Tonight we enjoyed an excellent show at The Hamilton with performances by Selwyn Birchwood and Curtis Salgado.

Along with the 38 new entries, that's it for now. Remember: entries in  gold  on the schedule are *new* to this edition. We hope we'll see you at a show this summer. Please come up and speak if you see us.

07/20/2016 Edition

And we're late again. We try for 4-6 weeks and here it is, two months. What can we say? But this time we have a good excuse. We were traveling to hear good music. Spent a week in Seattle just because we'd never been there to do anything but change planes. Then went to the Olympia Jazz Festival. We weren't informed that the Festival was 90% Dixieland jazz. Not exactly what we were looking for. Then we spent a week on the Columbia and Snake Rivers traveling by stearnwheeler riverboat. Lots of good music on that trip. The following week found us in Nashville, TN for the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society Convention. Heard some incredible guitarists, including Tommy Emmanuel. New for us were Joe Robinson and Sean McGowan. There also lots other great guitarists we've seen there in years past.

We also did local shows since the last edition including Deanna Bogart, Delbert McClinton, Chuck Redd, Prairie Home Companion, Marcia Ball, Jon Cleary, and Carolyn Wonderland, among others. Carolyn's opener bears special mention. Toronzo Cannon is a Chicago Blues style guitarist. He and his slammin' band blew the place away. Agnes was dancing in her seat, which almost never happens. If you get a chance to see him, don't miss it.

As aways, please note the "Road Show" entries are all grouped at the bottom. Check 'em out if you want a good excuse to get out of town and hear some music. Remember: entries in  gold  on the schedule are *new* to this edition. We hope we'll see you at a show this summer. Please come up and speak if you see us.

05/16/2016 Edition

And we're late this time. We try for 4-6 weeks and here it is, two months. What can we say? Getting taxes out, along with considerable travel, ran the clock out for us. We're back with a bunch of new dates (one of the largest Picks ever). The spring and summer dates are starting to roll in and there are some good ones coming. Be sure to sign up for the mailing list if you haven't already done so. The mailing list goes out on the posting of the latest edition on the website, ensuring you won't miss a thing. As in the last edition, Agnes had decided we should add more items that aren't music, but look to be interesting in their own right. This is a longer edition than usual because the schedule was announced for the summer shows at all the Fairfax County parks. We tend to be a little more liberal with the suggestions for the park shows since they're all FREE. They just cost you a little gas and an hour of your time. The park shows provide a good excuse to get outside and hear some music. Please note the "Road Show" entries are all grouped at the bottom. Check 'em out if you want a good excuse to get out of town and hear some music. Remember: entries in  gold  on the schedule are *new* to this edition. We hope we'll see you at a show this summer. Please come up and speak if you see us.

04/20/2016

Just another night at the Birchmere with the fantastic Time Jumpers performing an evening of timeless country and western swing tunes.10 extremely talented musicians (bass, drums, piano/accordion, pedal steel, 3 guitars and 3 fiddles) including Vince Gill as "just one of the guys in the band." A two hour show of great music. Agnes and I agree it's one of our favorite shows each year. Highly recommended if they come through your area.

04/06/2016

Just another evening at Blues Alley with my absolute favorite local band, Chaise Lounge. How to describe them... Imagine the hippest, most talented lounge band from the early '60's suddenly find themselves in the present day along with a sack full of wonderful original tunes in different styles. And these tunes have clever lyrics by turns charming and humorous. Then to top it all off, include a handful of standards turned on their heads with arrangements you wouldn't expect. Who's ever heard "If I Only Had A Brain" or "Burning Down The House" done as a lounge jazz tune? Well, I have. My DC/NoVA friends really need to turn out and hear this band on 5/29 at the Hamilton in DC. For those far away, check out some tunes on YouTube, particularly two of my favorites, "The Coolest Car I Ever Saw" and "A Man Who Can Cook". Trust me now, thank me later.

04/04/2016

Just another evening at the Kennedy Center enjoying the National Endowment for the Arts 2016 Jazz Masters Awards along with our good friends Laura Kafka-Price and George Price. An evening of commendations.and exceptional music was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

04/01/2016

Just another evening at the Hamilton in DC with Joe Ely, Ruthie Foster and Paul Thorn. This show was even better than we expected (and we expect a lot). And to top it off, we got to spend a little time with Len Hause from Austin and Paul's drummer, Jeffrey Perkins. Most definitely a superior evening

03/22/2016

Just another evening at the Birchmere with Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. A great band with a 5 man horn section. If you've never seen 'em, make a point to do so.

03/15/2016 Edition

And we're early again. Remarkable! Again gets all the credit. Remember: entries in  gold  on the schedule are *new* to this edition. The spring and summer dates are starting to roll in and there are some good ones coming. Be sure to sign up for the mailing list if you haven't already done so. The mailing list goes out on the posting of the latest edition on the website, so you won't miss a thing. Agnes had decided we should add more items that aren't music, but look to be interesting in their own right. We've seen some good shows in the past weeks, but thed one that stood out as the most remarkable was the multimedia performance by guitarist Kaki King. Check out this video of a portion of her show and be sure to watch it in full screen mode. As always, stay tuned for more!

03/11/2016

Just another evening at AMP powered by Strathmore enjoying the Charlie Byrd Tribute with Chuck Redd on vibes/drums, Nate Najar on guitar, Graham Dechter on guitar, Tommy Cecil on bass and Aaron Seeber on drums. This was my first time at this venue and I enjoyed it thoroughly. A 250 seat room with high ceilings, excellent sound and great sight lines. Liked it so much I'm going back tomorrow night.

02/16/2016 Edition

Can you believe it? Due to a herculean effort by Agnes (or perhaps too much caffeine), the latest edition is two days early. Actually, she was 4 days early with the listing, but I didn't get to the posting part 'til today (probably not enough caffeine). We've enjoyed lots of great music since last we posted (just read below) and we're back with even more for the coming months. By the way, if you make it down to ther bottom of the schedule, you'll notice something called "Road Trips". Just the thing if you want to get out of the DC area from time to time for some great music or interesting events.

02/15/2016

Just another evening at Eddie V's with the Joe Maher Trio. We were there for our good friend Duncan Holaday's birthday. I requested Earl Hagen's "Harlem Nocturne" and having no sax player available to wail the melody, Joe improvised with kazoo. Life is made of perfect moments like these.

02/14/2016

Just another evening at the Barns at Wolf Trap with the wonderful Marcia Ball. Probably the best set of songs I've ever heard her chose. Got a chance to chat afterwards and I gave her an idea for a song. We'll see what happens.

02/12/2016

As usual, another great performance by Chaise Lounge at the beautiful Carlyle Club. After the show, we had the opportunity to meet their vocalist, Marilyn Holder. I will see this group whenever I can, so I'll get to enjoy them again in April and June. Check the schedule and come on out. I guarantee you've never seen anything like them.

02/09/2016

Enjoyed the wonderful guitar mastery of Tommy Emmanuel tonight. No matter how many times we see him, he never fails to amaze. Everyone should see Tommy at least once.

02/07/2016

Had a great time at the 36th Annual North Carolina Jazz Festival. It remains one of favorite musical events. This was our fourth one and I wish we had discovered it decades earlier. Next year the festival will be February 2nd, 3rd and 4th. We've already purchased our tickets. If you like classic American jazz, you need to try this one out.

01/27/2016

Really enjoyed Raul Malo on January 27th at the Birchere. One of our favorite vocalists. We just never tire of his great voice.Your ears will throw a party for your head. And I can't go without a plug for my favorite local band, Chaise Lounge for something completely different, appearing several times in the months to come. So come on out to a show. We'd love to see you!

01/19/2016 Edition

Well, better late than never. My apologies for the long delay between issues. The appropriate parties have had notations made to their permanent records (which is pretty much both of us). But what can you do? Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's and the 2016 Sandy Beaches Beaches Cruise (one of the best ever). At any rate, we're back with lots more recommendations for your entertainment dollar. Once again, DO NOT MISS Tommy Emmanuel on February 8th and 9th at the Birchmere. One of the best finger picking guitarists on the planet is an experience which should be enjoyed by everyone at least once. Plus Raul Malo on January 27th at again at the Birchere. One of our favorite vocalists. Your ears will throw a party for your head. And I can't go without a plug for my favorite local band, Chaise Lounge for something completely different, appearing several times in the months to come. So come on out to a show. We'd love to see you!

12/09/2015

Alert the Media! Stop The Presses! Agnes has just change her earplug preference! Click on Ear Plugs Info below to learn more.

12/07/2015

Just finished another 5 shows in a row. Wednesday: A Redd Christmas at Blues Alley. Thursday: Arturo Sandoval at Blues Alley. Friday: Blood Sweat and Tears at the Birchmere. Saturday: Frank Vignola and Vinny Raniolo at the Theatre in Washington, VA. Sunday: Chris Grasso Trio with featured performers Sharón Clark and Paul Carr. Still have 5 more shows in December and Agnes is glad they are not all in a row.

11/08/2015

Just finished 5 shows in a row. This happens two or three times a year. Wednesday: Declan O'Rourke, a great Irish singer-songwriter at Jammin' Java. Thursday: Delbert McClinton at the Birchmere. Friday, Teresa James at the Blue Note in Durham NC. Saturday: Delbert and Teresa, plus Big Joe Maher and Anson Funderburgh at the Potato House Jam in Kinston, NC. Sunday: Lena Seikaly at the Carlye Club.

10/19/2015

Just made a change to the LIP Service section. All the "title" links now point to the MP3 versions of the recordings. This makes it easier to listen to the audio samples for each recording. It also keeps me from having to add audio myself. With a couple of tweaks, it's already there. Enjoy!

10/12/2015 Edition

We've been busy with shows and travel, so we're a little late with this edition. We've added a few more dates for October plus November and December are really getting packed with shows worthy of your consideration. Take a few minutes to review this edition's entries. We almost never travel in Decmeber because there are so many good shows. Finally, I'm considering adding audio to the LIP Service section so you can hear samples of the artists' CDs we recommend. Drop me a line and let me know if you like the idea.

08/17/2015

We enjoyed four shows in a row last week. On Wednesday, we saw Carolyn Wonderland and Selwyn Birchwood at the Hamilton. Carolyn was great and Selwyn was a revelation with a mix of funk, blues and R&B.. Both of these artists will be in Page's Picks from now on whenever they are in the area. On Thursday, it was Seth Walker at Hill Country Live. We discovered Seth on the Delbert cruise and he's been a favorite of ours every since. He has a musical groove that is unique to himself. Friday, we were at Lake Accotink Park for my absolute #1 favorite local band Chaise Lounge. They have a mix of 80% orginal tunes and 20% covers, and the originals are clever, witty and very tuneful. Check 'em out on youtube.com and cdbaby.com. And to round out our four nights, we saw Pancho Sanchez and his Latin Jazz Band for the first time at Blues Alley. They were excellent and cheered on by the most enthusiastic crowd I've ever seen at Blues Alley.

08/09/2015

We've added several new shows for November and December, and a few for January 2016. That may sound like a long way out, but you all have busy lives and we want you to have ample opportunity to add some of these shows to your schedules. Plus it gives you something to look forward to and that's always a good thing.

Since the last mailing went out, we had the chance to see two excellent shows. On 8/1 we saw Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives at the Birchmere. This was our first time, but it won't be our last. The same could said of the 8/7 show at the Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club. We went to see the outstanding British guitarist Albert Lee for the first time and put his name on the list to look for a return performance. This show featured an old friend of ours, Cindy Cashdollar, who ably demonstrated why she's considered one of the top lap steel players to be found anywhere. We've known Cindy since her days with Asleep At The Wheel and we welcome any opportunity to see her perform (and have a nice chat).

07/28/2015 Edition

Here's the latest edition with a fresh bunch shows for everyone to check out. The shows just keep on coming and we'll keep listing the ones we like the best.

Agnes and I just returned from 4 days in New York. We saw 3 shows: Hand To God, An Act of God (with Jim Parsons from the Big Bang Theory) and Penn And Teller On Broadway. Finally, we attended the release party for a jazz CD in which we invested a bit. It's called "For George, Cole and Duke." and you can check it out on amazon.com. We're friends with two of the artists who performed on the CD, Chuck Redd and Nicki Parrott. It's a great CD so everyone please buy a copy or two (and we'll recoup our investment).
